License Renewal-Standard Professional II License Requirements

EC and Student Services Staff: The EC Department and CCS Licensure recommend that all school based EC teachers should complete the 3 Literacy renewal credits in case they transfer or get moved into K-8 positions during their renewal cycle.

New Information Regarding Literacy Credits: Effective with licenses renewing 6/30/2016 and beyond, literacy professional development must meet the following:

• Literacy: shall include evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and intervention strategies for students not demonstrating reading proficiency. Oral language, phonemic and phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension shall be addressed in literacy-related activities leading to license renewal for elementary and middle school teachers.
