(Parents must sign this form after reading all of the Title I documents and the Student Code of Conduct Information.)

PARENTS RIGHT TO KNOW STATEMENT (English)

As required by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), Title I Part A.  Information is available at our school to include but is not limited to the following:

  • the school improvement plan
  • qualifications of your child’s teacher and/or teacher assistant
  • professional development opportunities for teachers and assistants to ensure highly qualified personnel
  • opportunities for parent involvement and input
  • the district improvement plan
  • the district parent involvement policy
  • the district report card and the school report card

Please contact our school and we will be glad to provide you with this information upon request.

DECLARACION DEL DERECHO A SABER DE LOS PADRES (Spanish)

Como requerido por el Acto de Que Ningún Niño se Quede Atrás (NCLB) del 2001, Título 1 Parte A.  Información está disponible en nuestra escuela que incluye pero que no está limitada a lo siguiente:

  • Plan de Mejoría de la Escuela
  • Calificaciones del maestro(a) de su hijo/a
  • Oportunidades del desarollo professional de los maestros y de los asistentes para
    asegurar personal altamente calificados

Title I schools are required to notify parents of all children that they have the right to request and receive information in a timely manner regarding parent rights, including the professional qualifications of their children’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals.

As principal, what MUST I do? The following Parent Right to Know Statements must be provided to all parents. It must be copied/pasted/disseminated through newsletters, handbooks, websites, planners, bulletin boards, etc. I attest all parents have been provided this list of parent rights, including the right to be informed of the qualifications of teachers and paraprofessionals instructing their children. The Parent Right to Know statement has been disseminated in the following manner.

The Parents Right to Know Statement was disseminated to parents by the following:
1. A copy has been placed on the Douglas Byrd High School webpage.
2. A copy has been placed in the student handbook.
