Image of Douglas Byrd High School emergency drill sponsors.My name is Karen Frances Britton and I am a senior at Douglas Byrd High School. This year, I had the privilege to participate in Fayetteville’s Disaster Drill with my theatre class and instructor, Mr. Robert Baker.  It was very insightful to see how these brave men and women respond to such terrible situations.  At the beginning of the drill, everyone was laughing and talking excitedly about how we would play our parts and what had happened to us when we were flung from the plane.  As soon as the drill began, there was no laughter, just groaning, crying, and screaming.  My entire mood changed, and I sincerely felt like I was a victim of a plane crash.
