Last night the brothers of Delta Phi Iota Honor Service Fraternity hosted several check and connect students from Cumberland Mills Elementary at last night’s home game. These young men were being rewarded for working hard to make improvements in their academics, behavior, and attendance! They had a great time as they sat court-side and participated in the halftime festivities. They were even given a huge round of applause as they were acknowledged before a packed house!  Many thanks to Mrs. Booth, Dr. Taylor, Mr. Gillespie and Mrs. Neal for making this possible!

Delta Phi Iota Fraternity mentoring community service at Ireland Drive Middle School. The Byrd students spoke to the young middle school boys about the importance of stepping out of their comfort zone and doing things differently in order to get different results.  They ended the session by assisting the young men in setting personal goals and encouraging them to do their best in and out of school.  They also provided donuts for the young men.
