Art Contest Month of the Military Child 
The time of year where we recognize our military-connected students (April) is quickly approaching. In honor of the Month of the Military Child 2020, Cumberland County Schools is sponsoring an art contest to afford them the opportunity to share their experiences, visually. The theme of the contest is “Picture this: My Story As A Military-Connect Student/Child.”  All entries must be submitted to no later than 4 pm, March 20, 2020 at Central Services, Suite 258, 2465 Gillespie St., Fayetteville, NC 28306. Job Shadowing
Upcoming job shadowing event to H & H Freightliners March 18, 2020. Please see Mrs. Grantham for a job shadowing packet if you are interested. This facility tour will cover all aspects of the truck dealership industry. Students will learn more about the parts department, sales, accounting, inventory control, shipping & receiving, service and the body shop. This opportunity will be great for students interested in logistics, automotive maintenance or body repair or those who are looking to go directly into the workforce after high school.

Opportunity for Military-Connected Students
The College Within Reach 4-H National Mentoring Program focuses on building relationships and college and workforce preparedness for military-connected youth between the ages of 12-17. Participants will be matched with mentors who share common experiences and interests while exploring topics such as college and career readiness, college application processes, academic and career goal setting, and creating sustainable plans leading to long-term success!
