Former head coach of N.C. State Wolfpack Women’s Basketball Team (1975 – 2009) Kay Yow fought an on-again, off-again battle with the disease in the public arena to inspire others to make a difference in a fight that impacts each and everyone one of us, according to the Cancer Fund’s Website. Yow’s goal for Play4Kay events was to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in its support of advanced research and to serve the underserved.
