You must have a minimum GPA of at least 2.5 in order to compete for this scholarship. Applicants are asked to reflect on one specific essay question and type an essay between 400-500 words. Essay topics along with further information and applications are available in Student Services. The goal of CCAPAP is to award at least one student from each high school in the county a scholarship award. The scholarship and all requested information must be postmarked OR delivered in person to the main office at Stoney Point Elementary School (7411 Rockfish Road) no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

 

Jeremiah Twenty9-Eleven Scholarship $500 per student. Applicant must be Cumberland County ResidentsGirls of Grace Mentoring is hosting its first annual scholarship ceremony in Fayetteville, NC on May 5th from 12pm-3pm. They are looking to reward 2 male and 2 female graduating seniors in the Cumberland County area with a $500 scholarship to college in the fall of 2018.
Due: April 20, 2018

Requirements:
1. Must reside in Fayetteville, NC
2. Must be at least 18 years of age
3. Must provide a copy of acceptance letter into college for Fall 2018
4. Must submit a 2-3 page essay detailing what Jeremiah 29:11 means to you and how it applies to your future (please include gender and high school in the subject line, EX. Male-Jack Britt)

If so, the Future Educators Program might be for you!  The Future Educators Program is a recruitment initiative aimed at developing CCS’ internal student talent. Future Educators participants are CCS high school graduates who intend to pursue careers in education and who plan to commit to teaching with CCS upon completion of an educator preparation program.

Eligibility Requirements:  Future Educators Flyer
* Must be a CCS high school senior
* Gain admittance to a college or university with a NC accredited Educator Preparation Program for the Fall 2018 semester
* Intend to pursue a K-12 teaching career with Cumberland County Schools

* Annual summer professional development with a $1000 stipend, beginning the summer following the freshman
year of college through the summer of their senior year
* An early employment contract for 3 years (with successful teacher evaluations)
* The opportunity to develop a professional network with CCS staff and peers

The deadline for the Fall 2018 scholarship application: May 1, 2018. No applications will be reviewed after that date. Only completed applications will be considered. Do not leave items blank. Please attach your letter of recommendation (from a non-relative individual) to your application in PDF form. No additional documentation will be accepted or reviewed. Applicants should follow the Victoria Baskett Patient Safety Foundation on Instagram and Twitter, as well as “like” the page on Facebook if they have social media accounts. Submit your application form with the letter of recommendation to vbpatientsafetyfoundation@gmail.com 

 

Image of a boy holding a pencil.REAL WORLD Event on May 5, 2018 at Department of Social Services.  Application due to your counselor no later than April 19th.
The REAL WORLD EVENT is a one-day simulation of the real world. The event will concretely address education and employment decisions youth make in combination with lifestyle choices (such as housing, transportation, leisure, etc.). Participating youths will be given an occupation based on an employment-educational assessment. The occupation will provide a salary (some with benefits). Youths will be challenged to take their salary and develop a budget based on everyday needs (food, electricity, rent, etc.) and situational crisis such as medical, emotional, social, and accidental. This event will help youths re-evaluate occupational choices based on lifestyle preference. Cumberland Community Foundation manages more than 50 scholarship endowment funds created by local individuals, families, and corporations who want to provide a path to higher education for future generations.
